A Glimpse of Things to Come

Made this mask just for fun, will be painting it and making a few more. Right now its only use is to be worn while I run around my apartment terrorizing my room mates. They love it.

Birmeleon

Reasons I'm not friends with photoshop:
Photoshop: Everything's great!
Me: Yay! Everything's great!
Photoshop: I'm sleepy...
Me: Me too.
Photoshop: .....
Me: ?
Photoshop: ........ I quit.

Then cry. But after 3 hours of lost work (Why can't I EVER remember to save before this happens??) And another 3 hours of re-doing everything I lost, I'm mostly back on track to finish things for the semester.

Fun With Faces

My brother came to visit me at school today so we did a face cast ( so that I can destroy his face over the Christmas break for fun) I also learned that we are the creepiest people ever.

Finished Mask

Finally! The finished mask. It was done a few weeks ago but I have been working on a large project in Toronto (Which I will HOPEFULLY have images of eventually)
I would like to do several more of these in different colours and experimenting with different techniques, allowing myself to play around with an airbrush a little more.

Smoke Monster

For this project we were told to use an abstract image and turn it into a creature using Photoshop. This was my first time using a tablet and I'm pretty happy with it! Used smoke as my abstract image.

Oh, My Skull!

I started this sculpture from a block of Styrofoam and carved away at it until it looked like a skull! It was tedious and messy but turned out to be worth it. Still being worked on, but here's the progress so far!

I layered pieces of torn latex over the skull until completely covered, and now am in the process of painting it with a mix of pros-aide and acrylic paint washes to leave the skin looking nice and translucent. Afterwards I will cover the gory holes and airbrush the details onto the skin.

Monkey Fish Mask

This was the final sculpture of my monkey/fish mask. It will be made out of latex once it's finished and painted.

The plain rubber mask looks like this:
